Did you know that you can use essential oils on your hair? There are several choices when it comes to your hair and essential oils. It doesn’t matter if you want to strengthen your hair or lighten the color naturally, there are options with the same effectiveness but safer than over-the-counter hair products conventionally used. Here are four essential oils that can be used easily with the hair.
Growth and thickness can be increased with rosemary oil. Healing is promoted and growth stimulated by the cellular metabolism increases. It has been shown that rosemary can even help with the treatment of hair loss. Dry scalp and dandruff are also treatable with rosemary.
Mix a few drops of the rosemary oil with the same amount of olive oil and massage onto your hair, then leave for a few hours. It will wash out.
The scalp is also stimulated by peppermint oil which has antiseptic properties allowing it to treat both lice and dandruff. Hair growth can be promoted by it as well. It is easy to add a few drops to shampoo or conditioner to easily treat your hair while you wash it. The peppermint oil will help to prevent your hair from becoming oily.
Extracted from Lavandula angustifolia flowers, lavender oil has a sweet smell. In addition to being soothing and mild, it is useful for all hair types. Hair loss can be prevented, growth promoted and circulation improved with this essential oil. The production of sebum is balanced and the scalp moisturized. Simply mix about ten drops with a couple tablespoons of coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil.
Essential oils are taken from various types of Chamomile but the Roman Chamomile oil is what is typically used when caring for hair. The scalp is soothed while softness and shine are added to your hair.
It can also be used as a natural lightener for your hair. A third cup baking soda, five drops of chamomile oil combined with one tablespoon sea salt turned into a past by adding warm water and applying to the hair. The mixture should sit approximately thirty minutes then be rinsed out. Sitting in the sun with the mixture on your hair can give a more dramatic effect.
These four essential oils are actually better for your hair and don’t do some of the damage that traditional products do to your hair. You won’t be exposed to bleach and formaldehyde when you use essential oils for your hair. Whether it’s dandruff, dry scalp or oily hair, these four oils can help and they will make your hair smell good, too.
